CLASIFICACIÓN DE LOS
MOTORES
GENERALIDADES
Los motores utilizados para la tracción de los vehículos, se pueden dividir en dos grandes
categorías:
-Motores térmicos, que, mediante la combustión,transforman en trabajo la energía
química de un combustible transportado en el vehículo mismo.
-Motores eléctricos, que utilizan la energía eléctrica producida en apropiadas centrales,
generalmente mediante una combustión, y almacenada en acumuladores transportados
en el vehículo.
MOTORES TERMICOS
Los motores térmicos, son máquinas donde el calor, producido por la combustión de
oportunassustancias, se transforma en trabajo. En base al tipo de combustión los motores
térmicos se dividen en:

MOTORES EXOTÉRMICOS
Los motores exotérmicos son motores de combustión externa; es decir la combustión
se produce fuera del fluido operante; el fluido que realiza el trabajo no está directamente
afectado por la combustión, pero se producen...
