Cleopatra Thea Philopator Nea, Cleopatra VII was the last queen of ancient Egypt of the Ptolemaic dynasty, also called Ptolemaic dynasty founded by Ptolemy I Soter, a general ofAlexander the Great. It was the last of the Hellenistic period in Egypt called.
Cleopatra was born about 69 to. C. and died at 30 a. C. She was the daughter of Cleopatra and Ptolemy V Tryphaena AuletesXII, who inherited the throne at 51 a. C., when he was 18, along with her brother Ptolemy XIII, only 12, who would also be her husband (a common occurrence in the Ptolemaic royal marriages).
