The coffee in the Americas originated in the Ethiopian province of Kaffa. Then the fruit of the plant was taken to Yemen andArabia. After that the coffee, was being cultivated in Yemen by the 15th century. To prevent the growth of coffee Arabs banded the export of its coffee after Dutch took live plants of coffee to their owncountry, the ban would make sure that only they would have coffee. The coffee is now growing in Colombia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, India,Indonesia, Jamaica, Kenya, Mexico, Nicaragua, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, Yemen and in Zimbabwe. The Columbus exchange I think that change the way we eat now, becausenow we have a lot of food , like sugar, rice, wheat ,coffee, bananas ,and grapes. I think that that exchange was a good idea.
