COLOMBIAN WONDERS

COLOMBIAN WONDERS:
PRIMARY COURSES: FIRST TO FIFTH GRADE.
OBJECTIVE:
The following project will give students theopportunity to investigate about the Colombian wonders, in this special case the natural regions of our beautiful country. This is a research activity that will be used as a basis for a researchbased project. The students will participate in with an interdisciplinary class at the primary courses. This project is being developed to assist 3rd to 5th graders learn about the natural regions ofColombia, including important topics as the culture of these specific regions (including music, myth and legends, typical costume and very important people who might have left their fingerprint orlegacy), history, geography, their costumes as well as the local cuisine.
Each student will investigate and gather information about the natural regions supported by their group directors.
In thisactivity students will be performing some roles as dancers, actors and hosts to our special guests.  Students will be exploring the six pillars of character education:  responsibility, trustworthiness,respect, caring, fairness, and citizenship. This is an interdisciplinary project that includes history, geography, arts, and languages.
ACTIONS:
Each group director will coordinate the activitiesinvolved in every region. This collaborative project will help students become familiar with the folklore, culture, history and natural resources of the national regions of Colombia.
Group directors mustcoordinate the activities such as get in touch with arts teachers, costume makers, dance trainers, musicians and with a little help from the graders parents the traditional cuisine preparations.
WHEN:This project is supposed to be finished next August 17th, Friday morning to be more specific.
