If you aren’t certain which version of OSX 
you have, please click the Apple icon and 
select “About This Mac”  

For OSX 10.6 
Select the Apple icon, click on “System 
Preferences...” 
 

Under “Internet & Network”, select 
“Netw
work”

Select the AirPort from the menu on the left. 
Then select the “Advanced” button. 

Select “802.1X” on the top menu, then select the Plus symbol on the lower left corner, and 
select “Add User Profile” 
 









Enter a name for the profile.  An 
example is “UCF_WPA2 wls” 
Under “User Name” enter “net\” and you NID with no spaces 
Under “Password” enter your NID 
password 
Under “Authentication” make sure 
only PEAP is checked 
Under “Wireless Network” select 
“UCF_WPA2” Under “Security Type” select “WPA2 
Enterprise” 
Select OK

On the Network screen click “Apply”, then select the User Profile you just created from 
the 802.1X options and select the “Connect” 
button. 

Verify the certificate presented by clicking 
“Show Certificate” 
 The certificate should look exactly as shown 
Click “Continue”

You may be asked for your machines 
administrator password to make changes to your Certificate Trust Settings.  Enter the 
user name and password of an account on 
your MAC with permission to make this 
change. 
 

 After a few seconds your network window 
should show a status of “Connected” with an 
IP address assigned that begins with a “10”
