Compare And Contrast The Causes Of Ww1 And Ww2
Every event that has happened throughout the years are the ones who make history and has left a great impact to how things are today, two events thatmarked history are World War 1 and World War 2. Both of this wars have some similarities and differences in why it occurred which will be explained along this essay.
World War 1´s short term causewas the assassination of Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo. Long term causes that led this war happened because of a web of alliances that the strong countries like Austria, Hungary and Germany had formed.When one of these countries declared war on the other, countries that supported their allies jumped in and caused more damage, making the matter much worse. World War 2 on the other hand occurredbecause Germany was very unhappy with the Treaty of Versailles. As we can remember, Versailles was a complete humiliation towards Germany. This Treaty officially blamed Germany for World War 1 and wasforced to pay debts. Hitler was completely against, he thought the treaty was really unfair and this became his first aim, the removal of restriction of the Treaty of Versailles, with this, he achievedmany of his other aims, such as re-armament, which was given very easily since there was great unemployment, Hitler invaded the Rhineland on 7 March 1936. his other aim was to unite all German –speaking in one country, specifically the Saar region. He began to take control over other countries to gain Lebensraum which is known as vital space. Hitler believed Germany needed Lebensraum in order tosurvive, and make Germany self-sufficient with the use of food and raw materials (autarky). Hitler´s most important belief was the cleaning of the race, he thought that his race of people was perfectand that other races were below them, and the final aim was the fear of Communism. German invaded Poland and this triggered the start of World War 2.
