HISTORIA DE PORFIRIO DIAS
Porfirio Díaz Mori was born in Oaxaca on September 15, 1830. His parents were Jose Faustino Diaz and Petrona Mori. He studied law at theInstitute of Sciences and Arts in the same city.
Instead of exercising his career, in 1854 he joined the forces of John N. Alvarez who managed to overthrow President Antonio Lopez de Santa Anastressed in the War of + 0 the Reform (1858-1860), defeating conservatives in several battles. In 1861 he became deputy for Oaxaca.
During the French invasion of Mexico (1861-1867)Porfirio Diaz excelled in battle of Puebla (1862), Miahuatlán (1866) and Carbonera (1866), contributing significantly to the final victory of President Benito Juarez.
Sebastian In 1867 and 1871presidential candidate, but was defeated both times by Benito Juarez. On 8 November 1871 the Revolution began to overthrow Juarez Noria, but he died in 1872, and fell to Lerdo de Tejada.
WHEN LERDO SOUGHTREELECTION IN 1876 PORFIRIO DIAZ BEGAN THE REVOLUTION OF TUXTEPEC AND MANAGED TO TAKE THE FOLLOWING YEAR. HIS FIRST TERM WAS DEVELOPED FROM 1877 TO 1880. THIS YEAR HE CEDED POWER TO HIS COMPADRE MANUELGONZALEZ, WHO RULED UNTIL 1884.
From 1884-1911 Porfirio Diaz ruled dictatorially becoming successively reelected. Favored his supporters with vast estates and promoted the arrival of foreign capitalin mining, oil and industry. Meanwhile most of the Mexican people suffered marginalization and poverty.
Reelected in 1910 after imprisoning opposition candidate Francisco Madero, who after prisoncalled for national rebellion was followed by many warlords antireeleccionistas. Thus began the Mexican Revolution.
When rebels Pascual Orozco and Pancho Villa took Ciudad Juarez, Porfirio Diazdecided to resign (May 25, 1911). The Madero was allowed to leave the country and went into exile in France. He died in Paris on July 2, 1915.
