Animal: Lince ibérico
Description: It is a graceful-looking cat, with long legs and a short tail with a black tassel on the end that usually keep beating it upright in times of danger orexcitement. Its features pointed ears are finished in a stiff brush of black hairs that favors their camouflage to break the round shape of his head. Also characteristic sideburns hanging from his cheeks.Their dental formula is 3/3, 1/1, 2/2, 1/1 = 28.4 and Their color varies from brown to gray to black mottled flanks.
Habitat: The Iberian lynx is in the forest and Mediterranean scrub in veryrestricted areas of the Iberian Peninsula.
Poblacion: Overall, the populations of Sierra Morena and Doñana East totaled less than 200 copies in 2005. However, it seems that the trend is reversed veryslightly.
Food: The Iberian lynx is the only carnivore specialist considered rabbits. This species gives 80 to 90% of their diet. Also consume waterfowl, ungulates, partridges, small mammals and otherbirds. The occurrence of these prey in their diet depends on the time of year, and prey availability in the area.
Abilities: It is an agile hunter. Stealthily approaching the piece and jump on itquickly. Less frequently expected to pass hidden near a piece. When the maximum temperature increase, lynx spend more time resting, in contrast to when no precipitation.
Special characteristics: lynxis small, weighing approximately half that or Eurasian lynx (Lynx lynx) .4 Adult males weighing an average of 12.8 kg and about 9.3 kg females, males can weigh up to 20 kg. Both are different species,sympatric in central Europe during the Pleistocene. The time of separation is estimated that happened long before the separation of the Eurasian lynx and the Canadian lynx (Lynx canadensis)
