CONDITIONALS
a) OPEN PRESENT OR FUTURE CONDITIONAL
FORMULA: If + present simple + will + infinitive
EXAMPLES: if he asks me, I will help him (perhaps he will ask me)
TRANSLATED: Si elme pregunta, Yo le ayudo /ayudare

b) UNREAL PRESENT OR FUTURE CONDITIONAL
FORMULA: If + past simple + would + infinitive
EXAMPLES: If he asked me, I would help him (but he won’t ask me,or he probably won’t)
TRANSLATED: Si el me preguntara, Yo le ayudaría.

c) UNREAL PAST CONDITIONAL
FORMULA: If + past perfect + would have + past participle
EXAMPLES: If he had askedme, I would have helped him (but he didn’t ask me)
TRANSLATED: Si él me hubiera preguntado, Yo lo habría ayudado.

d) GENERAL CONDITIONAL
FORMULA: If + present simple + present simpleEXAMPLES: If he asks me, I help him (wherever he has ask me)
TRANSLATED: Si el me pregunta, Yo le ayudo.

EXAMPLES
1. Si tuviera mucho dinero, Yo viajaría alrededor del mundo.

If Ihave a lot of money, I would travel around the world.

2. Si yo salgo, Yo compro el periódico.

If I go out, I will buy the newspaper. (perhaps I will go out)

3. Si el clima hubieraestado agradable ayer, Yo habría ido a la playa.
