Your task in the forum is to make a reflective summary of the important factspresented.
5.1. - THE PRODUCT AND PROCESS OF LEARNING.
In this process is where teachers need to be careful in how to teach grammar structures to students.Grammar is not easy to acquire, so it’s a process where students discover first, then they analyze, and last but not least, they get the input.
5.2. - INTAKE:NOTICING GRAMMAR.
The author mentioned a good example where a student reflects how she could notice grammar. She is asked to describe a picture; she described itusing words which are considered grammar. I think this activity is good to practice grammar; it helps students to detect some mistakes and work on them.
5.3. -SORTING GRAMMAR OUT: STRUCTURING.
At this stage, students can handle more complex grammar structures. The author explains different situations where students needto confront situations where they have to deal with structuring grammar. Learners need to attend to both meaning and form when learning a second language. Newgrammatical features are more likely to be acquired when learners notice and comprehend them in input than when they engage in extensive production practice. So,that’s why I think it’s more attractive or meaningful for students when they realize what they have learned, and how they can apply it to real life situations.
