Course Objectives
By the end of this course the student should be able to:
1. Define what social problems are and what standard it utilized in this process.
2. Identify, define, analyze, and evaluate current social problems. SolutionsTo these problems will be presented and evaluated.
3. Be able to analyze the following questions:
How do the different Sociological Perspectives view social problems?
How does each Sociological Perspective impact on solutions?
Grading
There is no extra credit for this course.
Grade is determined by average of four tests, CumulativeFinal Exam and Web-Based 5-Page Paper Submitted to Turnitin on Lessons page by Monday, April 16, 2012 at 11:30 P.M.
Those who are demonstrated to have plagiarized, a plagiarism rating of 50% or higher, will be awarded a zero on their paper and an F for the course.
Only papers with deductions will be returned.
No late submissions accepted for 5-Page Paper and no test and cumulative final examextensions will be granted since the 4 tests are open for the duration of the class time for this course (January 19 2012-May 7, 2012).
Tests and Cumulate Final Exam are taken online
Students will be graded on four twenty five question multiple-choice-tests, 50-question multiple-choice cumulative final exam and the 100-point 5 Page Web-Research Paper. See test and exam settings forallotted time to be spent on your tests and cumulative final exam.
A missed test, cumulative final exam or 5-Page Paper will be calculated as zero.
Warning
All tests and exam are open book and open notes. Prepare ahead by reading and taking notes. Students who do not have a solid understanding of the required material tend to fail the tests and cumulative final exam.

5-Page Paper = 20%
Total: =100%
Any students involved in cheating will receive a grade of zero on the test, cumulative final exam or paper.
