Greetings from South University and thank you for your interest in our school! Though we are a small and private university, we take great pride in our diverse composition. We are very happy to provide you with an International Admission Packet of information and would be glad to answer any questions that you may have.


As weunderstand the challenges that studying abroad present, we are also well aware of the many opportunities it provides. There are many changes and pending propositions that the Department of Homeland Security (the DHS - formerly known as the INS - Immigration and NaturalizationService) have imposed. We strongly recommend that you become familiar with the basic requirements that the holder of an F-1 Student Visa has in the United States, whether you choose to study in our beautiful community in South East Florida or somewhere else in the US. Additionally, the State Department's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) has launched a website --http://www.educationusa.state.gov -- devoted to the promotion of U.S. higher education. It provides information about studying in the United States and you may find it useful.


As the International Student Advisor, I am available on campus to help you with the student visa process as well as to mentor you through your program. We can promise you, that you will not be just a number here at South University.You will certainly be a welcome addition and one that contributes to global education.


If you have any questions regarding the application process, please contact an Admission Counselor. Upon completion and return of all of the documents requested of you, your file will be reviewed. Once you are accepted into the program of study and have submitted all required international documents,an I-20 may be issued to you in order to begin the F-1 Visa application process. APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS


South University


The applicant for Admissions for International Students is used to determine language proficiency, financial support, and other matters relevant to non immigrant status. The standard application is used to determine eligibilityfor admissions into the programs of South University. International applicants are required to submit both.

Checklist for international student applicants:
1. All requirements for standard application
2 Application for Admission for International Students
3. Certified foreign credential evaluation (info available on pg.10 of this app)
4. TOEFL scores (required only if Englishis not the primary language, or if the applicant has not graduated from an institution at which English is the language of instruction). Our Institutional Code for TOEFL is 5914. Bachelor and Master level students must achieve a TOEFL score of at least 550 (paper) and 173 (computer). Doctoral students -550 (paper) and 213 (computer). Score must be less than 2 years old.
5. Certification ofFinances for International Applicants (due prior to issuance of I-20 A-B and can not be more than 6 months old from the date of I-20 issuance)
6. Proof of health insurance
