ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT between

los Estados Unidos de America, actuando a traves de la Agencia de los Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional ("USAID")
y

the United Statesof America, acting through the United States Agency for International Development ("USAID")
and the Republic of Peru (the "Grantee") ARTICLE 1: Purpose The purpose of this agreement (the "Agreement") is to set out the understanding of the parties named above (the "Parties") in connection with the Objective described below. This Agreement is within the terms of the Agreement for TechnicalCooperation between the United States of America and Peru, dated January 25, 1951. ARTICLE 2: Functional Objectives and Program Areas Section 2.1. Functional Objectives and Program Areas In order to further the foreign assistance objectives of Economic Growth; Investing in People; Governing Justly and Democratically; and Peace and Security; (the "Functional Objectives") articulated by the Government ofthe United States of America under the Strategic Framework for United States Foreign Assistance, the Parties agree to work together by focusing on activities in the areas of Trade and Investment; Private Sector Competitiveness; Environment; Education; Health; Good Governance; Political Competition and Consensus Building; Civil Society and Counternarcotics (collectively, the "Program Areas," and,together with the Functional Objectives, the "Objective").
