CORRUPTION
Corruption is spiritual or moral impurity or deviation from an ideal. In economy, corruption is payment for services or materialwhich the recipient is not due, under law. In government it is when an elected representative makes decisions that are influenced by campaign contributions rather than their own personal beliefs.For example, police corruption is very common in the whole world. From my personal opinion, Colombian police is one of the entities of the government more corrupt. They receive a lot of moneyfrom the FARC, ELN, politics, and many more groups. A personal experience was about one year ago. I was in Colombia, and two patrols stop me for speeding. The ticket was about $150 USD, but with abribe of $50.000 pesos ($25 USD) to the police officer he didn’t report the ticket. That was a small example of how police can be corrupt.
Furthermore, corruption has a lot of causesand effects. The most popular cause is easy money. Generals, receive a lot of money from terrorist groups like FARC. In exchange the police help them to send drugs to the USA or not pursuing aninvestigation against them. Another case is when cadets receive bribes from politics; in exchange they infiltrate and look for information that could help them to win an election. We as society canfound corruption in millions of ways, is way of life for lazy people to get easy money. We can see it from large amounts of money to nothing.
In conclusion, corruption is the bread ofevery day. While it exist money, corruption would never disappear. I wish people with this mentality don’t exist, but is time to start living with it. The society is blind; we don’t realize how badit is to our world. As my mom always said ¨every human has its price.¨ always remind that is better to work hard and lose a contract than be involved in some monkey business. What easy comes easy go.
