INTRODUCTORY PARAGRAPH
In our society, the majority of parents wanttheir children to study all the time because they want the best for them. Some parents do not want their kids to learn unnecessary things from television. That is why, parents consider that watchingtelevision several times may be terrible for their children in their education, but there are lots of things that television can provide to children. Most people believe watching television is bad forchildren; however, children can learn a lot from television.
Some parents think that television may damage their children in many ways. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends thatchildren under two years old may not watch television because of their brain development, and the kids who are older than two years old may not watch television more than two hours a day because too muchtelevision can interfere with their activities such as being physically active, reading, doing homework, playing with friends, and spending time with family. Also, children who spend more than fourhours per day watching TV are more likely to be overweight, and the ones who watch violent acts are more likely to show aggressive behavior. TV characters often depict risky behaviors, such as smoking,doing drugs and racial stereotypes, and drinking alcohol. For instance, a recent study by the Center on Alcohol Marketing and Youth (CAMY) found that alcohol ads on TV increased by 30 % from 2001 to2006.
Although parents believe that television is a bad influence to their children, some consider television is the best way children may learn interesting things.
