The Polaroid SX-70 was the model of camera most sophisticated and innovative of its time. Land was theinventor of this camera and all thanks his daughter. Land's daughter asked why she could not see photos of their summer vacation at the same time; and at that time he had the great idea: make a camera toreveal their photos instantly. Land was the co-founder of Polaroid, and was the one who managed to combine science, technology and aesthetics in his product.Land gave the mission to design the camerato Henry Dreyfuss, who was an industrial designer and had much experience. Unopened, the camera was compact and elegant, and inside had a lot of physical, optical and electronic features: 200transistors, moving mirrors, light sensors and gears.The camera was launched before Christmas 1972 and the launch was a success. In the SX-70 camera, La Peter was a shrewd businessman; it made a greatpropaganda to the SX-70camera. He found a similitude among the tulips "Kess Nelis' and its product, and used this to their advantage. Tulips "Kess Nelis" had a peculiar characteristic: it was red insideand yellow around. Similarly, the SX-70 was best defined in those two colors, red and yellow. So Peter made that comparison between them.The SX-70 Polaroid camera went bankrupt in 2001, but now thecompany has refined the original model and sells a similarly instant camera. This new version is considered the stepchild of the Polariod SX-70. This model of camera was so witty, that all digitalcameras are based on it.Land died in 1991 but is still considered a good model inspired entrepreneur; he was able to turn their ideas in a revolutionary reality.
