Materials Needed: Each student must bring a two-pocket folder with loose-leaf, a one subject notebook and sharpenedpencils to class each day. Simply place the materials in the folder. Make sure your name is on your belongings. The folders and notebooks will be collected periodically and graded for content andcompleteness. Textbooks will be brought to class each day.
Course Material: Understanding our role in society as consumer, producer, employee and employer is essential for our success. Studentswill learn about the interdependent relationship among the flow of economic goods and services and money. The various forms of business ownership and government structures will be investigated.Personal financial literacy and interview skills will be developed. Students will sign up for free on-line Sim City accounts where they will build and run a city in mayor mode. This will encompass a majorportion of the second quarter grade.
Grading: Grades will be determined by your results on: tests, quizzes, class projects, homework assignments, reaction essays as well as and folder andnotebook grades.
Absences: Failure to make up work, notes, homework due to absence may result in a grade of zero. It is the responsibility of the student to find out what he missed. Students need tocheck the school website for the class web page to see what they missed. Students who miss class due to a class trip must hand in or take the quiz/test the next school day. If that is a day thatclass does not meet the student must see the teacher in the Computer Department Office.
