The Canterbury Tales
Firstly, I would like to say that The Canterbury Tales is a very long book, so I have decided to describe and give my opinion of just one tale.
Preface: Well, here in thepreface talks about the life of all participants of this story, it describes their personality of each of them.
Knight's Tale: Teseo was a duke that conquered large lands. He got married with the QueenHipolita, she had a sister; Emilia, and he took them to Athens. In the way he met several women who were crying because of the loss of their husbands. Later, Teseo went to Tebas where against Creonfought and killed him.
In Tebas there were 2 Knights, they were cousins; Palamon and Arcite and they were in Jail, but the two fell in love with Emilia. They had confessed that they were in love with thesame woman and that if necessary they would fight to get the love of Emilia.
Teseo decides to exile to Arcite and Palamon remained in jail for 7 years, I don´t know what is it worst, remain lockedin jail and see daily the person you love or go away and be free but unable to see your love.
Arcite very far away from his beloved, he was very depressed, he lost weight a lot, he was completelydifferent, and he was unrecognizable. One day he decided to go to ask for work at the Palace of Teseo, and he succeeded, and he could work for Emilia, he changed his name to Filostrato.
Palamon scapedfrom jail, and he wanted to look for revenge against Teseo, he was looking for some guys who could help him to defeat to Teseo. Palamon and Arcite were found in the field, and they wanted to fight eachother, but they agreed that they were going to fight the next day, and they did it, but that they Teseo, Hipolita and Emilia were riding and they saw to Arcite and Palamon, The cousins confessed whothey were, and both were in love with Emilia. Teseo heard the causes of this event and he decided to forgive them, but hipolita told them that if they wanted to win the love of her sister, they had...
