Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii SUMMER SUN is a free user-made hack. It's meant to be used with Riivolution game patcher and a retail New Super Mario Bros. Wii disc.

We do not hold any responsibility for anything bad that could be caused by misuse of this guide orthe tools mentioned in it. While the tools are stable, proven working and there hasn't been a single bricking report caused by this guide, use them at your own risk.

1.Requirements.
-A retail New Super Mario Bros. Wii disc (Supported versions: PAL, PALv2?, NTSC, NTSCv2, JPN?)
-A way to launch homebrew applications.-Nintendo Wii. This will not work on a Wii U console.
-An SD card or an USB Hard Drive with at least 145MB available.

2. Installing homebrew.
You can install homebrew on all firmwares available for the Nintendo Wii (2.0 - 4.3).
There's a number of different ways to launch applications, but we'll look into the twomost convenient ones: through The Homebrew Channel and the Riivolution channel.

The Homebrew ChannelTo install the homebrew channel, download the hackmii installer: http://bootmii.org/download/
Extract the HackMii Installer to find a "boot.dol" file. Place the boot.dol file in the root (SD:/ ) of your SD card. Run the loader which works with your System Menu (see the list above, follow instructions inside the links). Then, follow the on-screen instructions and install The Homebrew Channel.Wii will then reboot.
Now, download the Riivolution Game Patcher from here:

Create an "apps" folder on the root of the SD card and put the "riivolution" folder found in the archive in it. Insert the card into your Wii, boot the Homebrew Channel and you should see a Riivolution application icon.===========================================================================
Riivolution Channel
This is a more direct way of running Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii SUMMER SUN.
Download the Riivolution Game Patcher from here:

Extract the "boot.dol" from the riivolution folder found in the archive and put it on the SD card root (SD:/), then launch if using the loader which works with your System Menu (see the "Waysto boot apps" list). If you want, click the "Install" option that appears, then click exit.
The Riivolution channel should appear on your Wii Menu screen.
Using this method, you can also prevent anything from being installed on the Wii; you can use the Riivolution application freely without installing it to the menu.
