Clearly state the objective of THIS PAPER( to design a n English as a foreign language syllabus addressed to…), to whichgrade level THIS SYLLABUS is intended, the importance of syllabus design in the teaching field.

State which theories provide the foundations to yoursyllabus in terms of the theories of language (what a language is for) the theories about the nature of language learning( how a second language is learnt ) you Revise Richards and Rodgers ´book,The Nature of Approaches and Methods in Language Teaching
As well define the broader social context in which the language learning takes place (why is a foreign language learnt for in Colombia?)This last part can be taken from the Standards for foreign languages.

Start explaining the purpose of carrying out the needs analysis
(Support with authors Brindley, 1989).Revise reading material.

Design a questionnaire
keeping in mind your narrow and broad needs.

Look for a school and administer the questionnaire. Then analyze the data collected and write adescription of the students.
