The Study was sponsored by a DAAD scholarship from 1 October 1999 till 31 December 2003. The research scholarship was preceded by a6-month German language course at the Goethe Institute Dresden (April-August 1999).

Chairman of Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. Department of JMC has the first Campus Radio in South Asia. JMC also begun with its Campus TV in 2010. JMC runs a Msters program and also has an MPhil program. Appointed December 2009-present.
Associate Professor at JMC, UoP. AppointedDecember 2009-present.
Adjunct Global Faculty at Centre for International Studies, Ohio University. Appointed June 2009-present.
Lecturer at Department of Journalism, University of Peshawar and was promoted to Assistant professor in 2004 and is working on the post at the same department. 1990-2004.
Awards:
Heinrich Boell Stiftung Short-term research scholarship(November-December 2010)
Senior Fulbright Fellow at Canter for International Studies & Scripps College of Communication, Ohio University (September 2008-June 2009).
DAAD PhD Scholarship at Institute for KMW, University of Leipzig (1999-2004). This was the first award for social sciences/humanities in Pakistan, the first full scholarship for PhD and also the first one for any University in KhyberPukhtoonkhwa.

Member of Netzwerke fuer Interkuturale und Internationale Kommunikationswissenschaft (Network for Intercultural and International Communication Science) since January 2011
Deutsche Gesselschaft fuer Publizistik und Kommunikationswissenschaft (DGPuK) (German Society for Journalism and Communication Science) (2004-07). First non-German member. The society is composed ofGerman and Austrian university scholars and is a sister organisation of Deutsche Forschung Gesselschaft (DFG) (German Research Society). The organisation is a prestigious European research organisation, dedicated to research in Journalism and Communication Science.
