Daemon Tools Lite is the most popular free disc emulation product that offers easy
tools for making simple disc image files as well as emulating virtual CD/DVD drives.
1. Emulate virtualCD/DVD-ROM/HD DVD and Blu-ray drives
DAEMON Tools Lite enables you to emulate up to 4 CD/DVD virtual drives on your
PC. Virtual drives will appear in your OS just like real ones. Select a virtual drive thenchoose a disc image you want to mount. Find the created virtual drive with mounted
disc image in My Computer. Start working!
Looks like working with a real drive and a real disc, doesn’t it? Yes,but it is much
faster!
2. Create a disc image
With DAEMON Tools Lite you can create ISO and MDS image files from original discs
inserted in physical CD/DVD/HD DVD/Blu-ray drives.
Do you want toprotect your image content from unauthorised use? DAEMON Tools
enables you to set unique password and only the ones who know it will be able to
mount that image and get all contained data.
If you wantimages to take less hard drive space just use “Compress image data”
option before start disc imaging process.
You could also use images created with other programs such as Nero. DAEMON Toolsproducts work with variety of image types.

Make sure you go down to Daemon Tools Lite section and click on the blue Download
button on theright.
Once you have installed it, a thunderbolt symbol should appear on the bottom rightcorner
of the taskbar, near the time, this is Daemon Tools.
To create an image file:
Right-click thethunderbolt, go to Disc Imaging:
Note the button with the 3 little dots on the right hand side in the middle. Click on
this to change the file type to an iso if you prefer that to an mds type, otherwisejust
press Start to begin the process. Most popular programs accept them both, so it’s
just a personal preference.
