Some parents, especially the ones with little money, think that the education is not that necessary so they prefer to make their children work on the streets selling candies or begging to support the entire family. Most of the teenagers do not care for their future and spend their time doing different things than study; this gives them fewer opportunities because of their lowknowledge. Plus, the students present lack of intellectual curiosity, general lack of interest and absence of work or effort, among other. Every day is getting harder and harder to find a job and keep up with the Joneses because you need to be very well educated. The unwanted pregnancies continue in the present in spite of all the contraceptives because most parents do not talk about sexuality.
Thealcoholism and drugs are some other dangers a lot of teenagers have to go throw. Nowadays, children start to drink at a small age (13-14 years old) to try how it is or to be accepted by his friends. The low self-esteem makes them follow and do what the others teens do although they don’t want it like drink, try drugs or smoke. In advertising they show us that with alcohol you will enjoy more and havemore fun than sober. In almost every party you can see alcohol and cigarettes so this becomes a temptation for young people and it are not hard to get.
In conclusion, the dangers teenagers confront in Ecuador are a lot and depend on the person to face it or not. Some ideas to solve these problems are improving the education not only at school but also in the house the education our parentsgive us. Having good communication and relationships between parents and children is essential. We should encourage sport because not only help the development of our body that is so important at this stage, but also will prevent very harmful habits such as consumption of snuff, alcohol or drugs. The practice of any sport consistently helps teens learn the importance of discipline, perseverance andeffort.
