Boom-Boom , one of ice hockey's biggest stars was a player with the Black Hawks until he shattered his left ankle and was not able to skate again. He was V.I's cousin andthey had grown up together in South Chicago. His real name was Bernard but he loved being called "Boom-Boom" by his childhood friends. He was of Polish descent and had madeV.I. his executor. Boom-Boom had got a job with the Eudora grain Company and was often depressed about his ankle. He was impatient and often wanted to do work faster thanPhillips, which is why Phillip was glad that Boom-Boom was leaving for Buffalo. It was during his course of work that Boom-Boom had discovered some disturbing information about thecompany invoices, which he wanted to share with Vic before is death. It was believed that he died in an accident by falling under a ship, but no one suspected murder exceptfor Vic.. Paige Carrington, a ballet dancer claimed to be his girlfriend but was caught snooping though his belongings for some love letters. Boom Boom's best friend, PierreBouchard was a star player with the Black Hawk's. Janet, his secretary had always been fond of him, but Boom Boom had argued with Clayton Phillips about some papers. He hadcircled some dates in his diary to reconfirm his suspicion about he company's ongoings. Boom-Boom also disliked another hockey player called Howard Mattingly, whom Boom-Boomhad seen at an odd place. The Black Hawk's had paid Boom-Boom a lot of money to play hockey and he had paid over a quarter of a million for an apartment in a big, glassbuilding on Lake Shore drive with a fantastic view of Lake Michigan. People spread the rumour that Boom-Boom had stolen some papers from his boss due to which he was in trouble.
