In the presidential debate both Romney and Obama used ethos, pathos and logos to try and get people’s empathy as much as they could, andwhen candidates start talking about taxes it wasn’t the exception. When they were ask on how would they lower tax rates for all tax brackets, they both start focusing on the middle class, becausemiddle class people have a higher participation in elections and I think they’re more concerned in all the taxes they are paying in a way, and is the one they both want to get their attention.
Romneyused a lot of pathos by quoting that the middle class people has been crushed over the last four years, he wanted to create an emotion on people that Obama have not done nothing for them in hispresidential mandate. And when he started talking about tax deductions he assure people he was going to bring taxes down and that they were going to have a tax break. On the other hand, Obama even after Romneytried to disaccredit Romney, He used pathos by saying that his philosophy on taxes is plain and simple and he wants to give middle class some relief on taxes who are striving to get into the middleclass not like Romney that say middle class being crushed over the last four years to make people angry at Obama. Obama wanted to make people belief that he was more worried than Romney on how to makepeople pay lower taxes.
Talking about tax reductions Romney tried to use logos, talking about all of this number form under his sleeve that for me in had no relevance or talk about on not loweringthe taxes on wealthy people, but for wealthy people that doesn’t make a big impact on their budget like for the low or middle class. on logos Obama did a great job on giving fact and numbers on taxes,that he reduced in his four years elected mentioning the tax cut he made for small business 18 times, and that he would not make any tax increase unlike Romney’s allies in congress, that they want...
