There are also two territories; the Australian Capital Territory inthe northern territory. Australia is hot, dry and mostly flat. It has a lot of deserts. The Simpson Desert is in the centre of the country in the northern territory and the Great Sandy Desert islocated in the northwest in the state of Western Australia. The native people of Australia are called aboriginals and they have many sacred sites, the most well-known being avers rock in the centre ofthe country, just west of the Simpson Desert
