Decission making
Decisions are thoughts turned into actions you have to deal with everyday at every time. Lifetime will present more and more ocations where youwill have to make important decisions that will define who will you become. Parents should let teens make their own decisions since childhood, because of two mainreasons: They will teach themselves and they will become more independent with time.
First of all, teens will be teaching themselves for their own personal benefits. They will start by making their own mistakes, so they wont make them again. For example, its better to learn by personal experience than just hearing someone else’sadvice. In addition, they will gain more experience that can be very helpful in future ocations. As Dr. Dror’s article says, “Although cognitive resources decrease withage, experience and wisdom increases”(“D.M”, par 5).
Moreover, taking decisions will make them become more independent. Life will present you many obstacles we needto go through every day, so they need to be prepare for the feature. According to Donna Birk, “It will help you develop critical thinking skills a little bit more witheach decision you take” (“D.M.T.C”, par 2). Also, by being independent they will learn to take responsibility of their actions. For example, you have to be aware of theconsequences you might have to deal with.
To sum up, over lifetime teenagers will teach themselves and will become more independent, so they can beprepared for major problems in the future. Sometimes your decisions might turn wrong; however, mistakes aren’t mistakes, because without them, you wouldn’t be who you are now.
