How does Dell’s Web site add value to customers?
Dell enable its customers to purchase computer from Dell.com and PremierDell.com for enterprise customers, the company has provided more than 60,000customized web site to allow customers to track orders for the purchase and implementation. Valuechain.dell.com orders through direct transmission to the supplier of raw materials Dell companies, suchsuppliers will be able to receive real-time information on raw materials, thus contributing to Dell companies control inventory. Dell companies provide online services and technical support is verybroad, users answer questions, the escalation on Windows, software upgrades informed, and so on. A wide range of services not only to increase the intrinsic value of their products, can also be usersatisfaction, and enhance the competitiveness of our products.
Dell also uses the Internet to link itself more tightly to its large customers by developing extranets called Premier Pages (now renamedPremier Dell.com). Dell had developed over 50,000 Premier Pages for thousands of business customers by mid-2000. These are used for configuration, ordering, services, and support, all customized to thecustomer’s systems and needs. Smaller companies and consumers could buy PCs, peripherals, software and other items online from Dell.com, and receive technical support and other services at the Dellweb site.
