Depressant Drugs
A depressant drug that slows down or is that inhibit the function or activity of any brain region. They have the ability to slow or hinder memory, lower blood pressure,analgesia,cause drowsiness, slow heart rate, cause respiratory depression, coma, actinganticonvulsant or death.This group is subdivided into several groups: antihistamines, antipsychotics,dissociativeGABAnérgicos, narcotics and simpatológicos.

Drugs can be characterized as being hallucinogenic, stimulant or CNS depressant. The variety of depressant drugs of central nervous system, are opiates, allsubstances derived from opium, alcohol and sedatives or hypnotics.These substances are heroin, morphine, codeine and methadone in opiate. Alcohol in all its variations of sale, and within the sedativesor hypnotics, some are the benzodiazepines, barbiturates, like all the diversity of tranquilizers and sleeping pills.Depressant drugs are central nervous system characterized by stimulatory effects onboth are consumed in small doses. If you abuse these substances, the effects include decreased brain activity, causing drowsiness and confusion, may have more serious consequences.Effects and modesof use of depressant drugs
In many cases, these drugs are used for medical purposes such as pain relievers or tranquilizers, however, many of which are sold illegally. Drugs derived from opium, arecharacterized by pain relief and are consumed orally, nasally (snorted being directly or indirectly sucking their fumes when burned), intravenously or intramuscularly.The effects of these substancesare immediate, especially by injection.
