Last year was a time of absolute change on the planet. American and European economy were beginning to see cracks in the system that had been functional for decades and halve the Middle East andIslamic countries were burst into revolution. Apparently the world made by human was about to collapse. However, one of the most shocking events last year was not even provoked by humans, although ourmistakes made it worst and made the consequences harder to manage for ourselves and for the environment. Last year the Land of the Rising Sun was shaken by a series of catastrophic events. One afteranother, the sequence of misfortunes left the country in a total chaos and although the country was devastated by the power of nature people remained strong. Due to the stability of their unshakableculture of respect and acceptance the country managed to keep up with the expectations and catch up with a strong and balanced economy just a couple of months after this catastrophe. Although Japan wascast down by a huge earthquake, and tsunami it prevailed as a strong society and a stable economy. That is why understanding what happened during these series of events and how did the country face thestruggle would lead us to understand which values should be taken into account when our countries face similar situations.

Japan is located along the Pacific Ocean’smost geographically unstable area which is often referred to as the Pacific Ring of Fire. Additionally the whole country is an archipelago composed of over six thousand islands, though Honshu,Hokkaido, Kyushu and Shikoku, are the four larger and make up to ninety-seven percent of the nation's land area.
