I just worked this out.
Tech support got back to me with this.
Go to your fontbook manager and disable any duplicate fonts...

Here is my official note from support they also addressed some othercrash problems I was having:

Hi,

This is usually and issue with duplicate fonts on the system, the user accountin Mac OS, or an incompatible plug-in.

For the fonts issue run the Font Book application to and use the Select Duplicate Fonts and Resolve Duplicate Fonts feature to resolve this.

You can alsolook in MacHD/Library/Fonts folder and your User/Library/Fonts folder to see if there are any instances of duplicate fonts I there are delete the duplicates from the user font folder.

If this doesnot resolve the create a new user account with admin privileges:

Open System Preferences from the Apple Menu
Open Accounts
Unlock the lock
Click the plus sign above the lock
Changeaccount type over to 'Administrator'
Name the account 'Pro Tools' (can be anything)
Click create account
Close System Preferences
Choose 'Log Out' from the Apple Menu
Log into the new account wejust made

Run Pro Tools as this new user to see if it is more stable.

If you continue to have stability issues move all but the Digirack plug-ins from Mac hard drive > Library > ApplicationSupport > Digidesign > Plug-ins and put them in the plug-ins unused folder.

Go to Mac HDD/Library/Application Support/Digidesign/ and delete the folder called Databases. Go to Users > “your username” > Library > Preferences and trash DAE Prefs, DigiSetup.OSX, and Pro Tools prefs.
