“Dia de muertos”
The “ dia de muertos” is a festivity we the mexicans celebrate every year in the first 2 days of November, it is recognized all over the world as a satanic cult or a cult to the dead but it actually is a mix of a party with a little bit of religion and traditions our people have like Halloween in the united states.
All around the world the people have similar celebrations likethis in most of the world the people celebrate the dead or their dead relatives in many ways and in latin America this is more often and very similar to the way Mexicans do it, there are thousands of things to know about the dia de muertos that are involved in the celebration and during the celebration in all this places. I like a lot the Mexican celebration it is original and its effect on thepeople is very beautiful and amazing.
Its origins start earlier than the Spaniards came here to mexico that means the Indians already had a celebration or festivity to this dia de muertos, during the prehispanic era the Indians had no beliefs of heaven and hell and there was no price or sins in their lifes in fact they believed that depending their type of dead their fate of their soul would bedecided by the gods.
Also the fate of the enemy the other cultures people like slaves or soldiers was decided by the gods and a sort of pope would decide if they deserved to die or to be sacrificed to the gods in avery bloody act where some cultures kept them in a stone and rip their heart as they where alive.
Today we know that is completely wrong there is no necessity to do that due to ourreligion but our religion is catholic and the Spaniards brought it. It was until the Spanish people came here to mexico when they saw our acts and immediately responded us as bloody and senseless natives, and how could someone be a fanatic to death to sacrifice a human being alive in front of everyone and later use their bones to create altars and decorations. They judged us as unfaithfull to theonly true religion. A different way to see things for them when you die and even now it is over and depending on your actions on earth your faith will be decided wether you go to hell and be punished for all eternity or you shall go to heaven where the paradise awaits you.
The Aztecs had different beliefs than the mayans for example the mayans believed this life was only a transition to the truelife or the final one where they would be happy and they actually waited all their lives to die they did spect to die one day in order to be happy to pass to another world where they would be complete.

When the Spanish people arrived and saw all this things they thought we where crazy we were animals and pagans that we were poisoned by the devil so they decided to gave us their religion which isvery different to what natives had and to much complicated.
But some natives resisted this so the Spaniards had to use the force and finally the natives had to become catholic against their own beliefs, but in fact it was a mixture between both because the two cultures changed their customs between one and another because it is almost imposible for one to forget the idea they have had all thismany years with a complete different one were everything you have done is bad and if you don´t change all what you do you are going to suffer in the most terrible ways you can imagine.
The practice of making sacfrifices eventually stoped but the idea of the death was still on but with some other new ideas of the Spaniards. This was the born of the dia de muertos because November which was theninth month of the year was celebrated the dead and the Spaniards had something called the day of all saints and souls this month to so they decided to join them in the first and second of November. Which this is the actuall date of the dia de muertos today where we have a lot of traditions and a lot of things to do
