Miguel: I am lost¿ I' locking for the foreign student office. Can you help me?
Steve: Sure, I' going near there. Do you want to come with me? By the way, my name's Steve. What's yours?
Miguel: I'm
Steve: Where do you come from, Miguel?
Miguel: I come from Colombia. I'm here tostudy architecture. Are you from here?
Steve: No, I'm not from Madison. I'm from Canada, from Toronto. I started college in Canada, but I'm finishing my degree here.


Steve: ¿necesita algo? usted parece perdido.
Miguel: Estoy perdido ¿me bloqueo para la oficina para estudiantes extranjeros. ¿Puedes ayudarme?
Steve: Claro, yo voy cerca de allí. ¿Quieres venir conmigo? Por cierto, mi nombre esSteve. ¿Cuál es el tuyo?

Steve: No, yo no soy de Madison. Yo soy de Canadá, de Toronto. Empecé la universidad en Canadá, pero estoy terminando mis estudios aquí.




STUDYING ABROAD

Over 300,000 foreign student are studying in the United States, andhomesickness is often is a problem. Having a friend to talk to is sometimes the best remedy for it.



Tom: Hi, Miguel¡ ¡How is it going?
Miguel: Well...okay...no, terrible. I was thinking about home, and I was getting a little homesick.
Tom: I know you mean. I'm homesick, too.
Miguel: You know, a year ago now, I was studyng at the university. I was really busy. While I was taking classes.
Iwas also working for my father on weekends.
Tom: Why did you leave your country, then? Didn't you get a degree there?
Miguel: When I won a scholarship to study here, I decided to leave. It was a great opportunity. And of course, I wanted to have the experience of studying abroad. I made the right decision, but sometimes it's hard.


ESTUDIAR EN EL EXTRANJERO

Tom: ¿Por qué dejaste tu país, entonces? ¿No has recibido un título allí?
Miguel: Cuando gané una beca para estudiar aquí, me decidí a salir. Fue una gran oportunidad. Y por supuesto, yo quería tener la experiencia de estudiar en el extranjero. Tomé la decisión correcta,pero a veces es difícil.
