All answers due when we meet again in class.

Before Reading:

Based on what you know of the Lost Generation, what do you expect to see for this story?
-Iexpect this story to be about more mindless partying and drinking. I presume the story will be very superficial and about people who have lost their way. The people of the Lost generation are just that, lost, they have no where to go and nothing to do.

What predictions can be made, with regard to the story's content, given the title?
-I assume it will be about a diamond robbery or something alongthose lines, I know that that the Ritz hotel is a hotel held in high prestige in London and is where all the rich people go to get married or go for brunch.

-Howrich is John’s family
-Why is Percy’s dad so emotionless and bland

I think this because Kismine has no contact to theoutside world and has no idea how to interact with other people, and John is very macho and turns away from women for the smallest of things.

What's with the slaves and captives?  What purpose dothese details hold for the greater story?
-They show the darkside of the chateau, the horrors that the Washington family are hiding from the rest of the world.
