Diferencias entre: going to, present continuous, future simple

GOING TO, PRESENT CONTINUOUS, FUTURE SIMPLE

GOING TO
* POSITIVE FORM:
* I’m going to travel to London
* NEGATIVE FORM:
* I’m not going to travel to London
*INTERROGATIVE FORM:
* Are you going to travel to London?
*
Form
* We use the present of the verb “to be”+going to+an infinitive.

Use
* We use this tense when we have the plans orintention to do something but nothing has been arranged yet.
* I am going to travel to London.
* It means that we want to travel and we have the intention of doing it, but we don’t have thetickets, the hotel or anything arranged
* For predictions based on any real basis; when there is a justification for our predictions.
* The sky is grey, I think it is going to rain.PRESENT CONTINUOUS
* POSITIVE FORM:
* I am travelling to London next week
* NEGATIVE FORM:
* I am not travelling to London next week
* INTERROGATIVE FORM:
* Are youtravelling to London next week?

Form
* We use the present of the verb to be+ an –ing verb.

Use
* We use this tense with a future meaning, when we have the intention of performing an actionand this is in a near future. Up to here, it could be the same as the going to, but the difference between these two tenses is that in this case, we have everything prepared, so we are sure that theaction is happening. We have bought the tickets, the hotel has been reserved…

FUTURE SIMPLE

* POSITIVE FORM
* I’ll have a steak ,please
* NEGATIVE FORM
* I won’t go to theparty
* INTERROGATIVE FORM
* Will you help me with these bags?

Form
SUBJECT+WILL/SHALL+VERB IN INF WITHOUT “TO”

Use
* For instant decisions:
* I’ll have a pizza
* Forpromises:
* I promise I’ll be back soon
* For threats:
* I shall kill you if you do that
