Core colours Core colour palette
It is essential that the core colours of Red, White and Green are correctlyspecified. This is to make sure that consistency of colour is achieved across all media. Tints of the core colours must never be used as this diminishes the impact of Castrol’s identity.

It may be necessary to adjust this on various printing materials to achieve an accurate match. The Vinyl specifications should only be used for non-illuminated signs and fascias. The Acrylic specifications are suitable for both illuminated and non-illuminated signs.

Core colours Using the three core colours
The combination of Red, White and Green is one of Castrol’s most valuable visual assets and the foundation of its identity. To be recognised instantly as a Castrol communication, these three coloursmust always appear in a balanced combination on all applications (the logo itself is not included in this equation). The exact balance may vary, but each of the three colours must always remain prominent. If you cover the logos on the examples below, each design will still have the ‘Castrol look’.

Core colours The role of White
White plays a vital role in Castrol’s identity. As a neutral colour it can be used at a greater proportion than Red and Green and still achieve the desired Castrolbalance. Placing Red and Green together creates a visual ‘clash’ and doesn’t achieve the distinctive Castrol look. Using White to separate areas of Red and Green will prevent this ‘clash’ and also maintain the important Castrol balance.
