Speech Analysis of Nuclear Energy
Energy is power derived from the utilization of physical or chemical resources, especially to provide light and heat. In the modern world many of us use energy todo basically everything. Energy is everywhere we go, from our communities to devices we carry with us all day long. If you think of all the things we use that absorb energy you will realize that it isall around us. Of all the gadgets and artifacts that use energy just some of them use the same form of energy. There are ten (10) different types of energy used in this world today. All of them aredrastically important for the world, but I have decided to focus on the topic of nuclear energy. I chose this thoughtprovoking topic because of the Fukushima catastrophe. For those of you who do notdiscern what that is, it was the tragedy that happened in Japan in 2011. I could not understand the reasons why such a developed country like Japan would build a nuclear plant that could possibly cause atragedy of this magnitude. There had to be a reason. After considering and thinking about it for a long time it occurred to me that the advantages of it had to be so great and important that theJapanese people would not mind taking the risk. I was intrigued, so I decided to research the pros and cons of nuclear energy, which leads me to the topic of this speech today. The source of nuclearenergy is Uranium, which people effortlessly find almost everywhere in the world. Nuclear energy is defined in the Oxford dictionary as “the energy released during nuclear fission or fusion, especially whenused to generate electricity,” I can say that the definition is not correct. Due to research I performed I found out that only energy that is released as fission can be used to generate electricity.Fission is one of the two ways of producing nuclear energy.
