Abortion

Abortion is a very controversial subject about which many people have strong opinions and some people argue a lot to have their opinions heard.
Some people whoagree with abortion believe that the mother has the right to decide whether or not she wants to have a baby, and that the mother is the person who should have the freedom tochoose because it is her body. It is also believed that it’s not worth bringing a child into the world if this child isn’t going to live a happy life, for example if themother can’t afford to fund it or if their quality of life will not be very high which could refer to disability of some sort.
On the other hand, there are a lot of opinionsagainst the idea of abortion. Many people detest the process because they believe that everyone has the right to live and that the parents have to take responsibility for theiractions. Abortion is often looked upon as murder which is often the principle reason for those who are anti-abortion. The idea that the unborn baby is innocent and doesn’tdeserve to have its life taken away from it simply because of their parents’ lack of desire for a child is often a point that is difficult to argue with.
For me, thedifficulty lies in the existence of family planning. There are many forms of contraception that are readily available so if someone doesn’t feel ready for a family they should bepractising safe sex. In my opinion the law which identifies 3 cases in which a woman is entitled to an abortion is a good law because there are unavoidable circumstances; forexample if a woman is raped it would be very difficult for her to bring up a child that was a result of that. In situations such as these I feel abortion is a necessary evil.
