Doublespeak is always present in the life of all people. Since a lot of years ago, doublespeak is an important partof the daily life. When I was a small boy, I liked to compete in every event was organized in my school. My parents always encouraged me for participate in the competitions, and I likedmainly sportive events. I was not the best in that, and sometimes, my results in the competitions were bad. Whenever that happened I was some depressed, because it was not what I expected. And my parents and my teachers used to tell me, “the important of competitions is not to win, the important is only competing.” They used to tell me that word for motivate me, and forencourage me for future competitions. That was very effective, because their objective was done. And for those words, I always tried to compete, and until today, I love to participate incompetitions, and in any contest.
Those words are doublespeak because the real mean is that competing like that, I will never win, but I have to keep in competitions for being better, and very timebe better. In part, the phrase is true, but the real phase should be “The important of competitions is not to win in relation to other people results, the important is compete, and win, because you are satisfied of what you did.” The positive of this case of doublespeak is that it inspired me to be in competitions, and every time that I competed, I was better, until now thatI am one of the best competitors in anything that I compete. I learned to affront my limits for overcome them in every competition, practice for having always a better performance.
