Dr Jekkyll & Mr Hyde

1. The mysterious door
Mr Utterson was a lawyer whose best friend and distant cousin was Mr Enfield. They used to take long walks together through the streets of London. Near the end of the road,there was a building that had an old door. One day, while they were walking past that door, Enfield told Utterson a story about a man who had bumped into a little girl and then had walked all over thechild’s body. There had been a lot of people watching the situation, so the man had agreed to give a cheque to the girl’s family. He had taken a key and had opened the old door. He had came out of thebuilding with the cheque which was signed by Henry Jekyll, but the man’s name was Mr Hyde.


2. In search of Mr Hyde
Utterson was reading Jekyll’s will which said that if he died or disappearedfor more than three months, Hyde would keep everything he owned. He was worried about that so he went to Mr Lanyon’s house. He was Jekyll’s best friend. He told Utterson he hadn’t seen Jekyll for a longtime and that he didn’t know Hyde. Utterson wanted to meet Hyde so he stayed outside the building waiting him to go out and when he finally did it, Utterson was terrified of what he had seen. Then,he went to Jekyll’s house but he wasn’t there.
A few days later, Jekyll gave a dinner party, where Utterson told Jekyll that he didn’t agree with his will, but Jekyll told him to forget everythingabout that and to respect what his will said.

3. The Carew murder
Nearly a year later, a servant girl saw through her bedroom window how Mr hyde had killed an old man hitting him with a walkingstick. The girl called the police and they sent a letter to Mr Utterson who recognized the dead body of Sir Danvers Carew. He went to Mr Hyde’s house, but he wasn’t there, so the police took a look aroundand found part of a cheque book and the other half of the walking stick.
