The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde

Robert Louis Stevenson wrote this novel in 1886 in the Victorian England. The story is about a lawyer, Mr Utterson, who investigates the unusualrelationship between his friends: Dr Henry Jekyll a brilliant man that works in scientific´s experiments, and an evil man named Edward Hyde that had murdered and hurt innocent people. At the end the lawyerdiscovers that Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde are the same person, and that a potion, created by Dr Jekyll, causes the change. The story is full of mystery and inconclusive clues that, at the end of the book, areexplained to show the answer to the case's mystery.
In my opinion, the author creates a mysterious atmosphere that makes harder to put all the clues together, maybe because multiple ideas are shownwhile the story is being developed, an example can be the idea that Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde are friends, and that they also are exactly the opposite. To think Mr Hyde and Dr Jekyll are the same personis out of any mind, and in this part is when the author´s purpose is showed: distract the readers for the answer to the case. Maybe a few readers can guess the end, but the other ones, definitely aregoing to be surprise.
The most interesting part for me, was the idea of have a potion that was able to take out the worst of us, this means that the potion can control our brain, and even moreinteresting, it can control the feelings. Also, if this potion really exist, can be use with awful purposes, for example, a man can murder someone else without regret´s feelings at the moment but, as in thestory is developed, when the potion effects end and the man is conscious of his acts, the regret´s feelings are really strong.
The story takes place in the 19th century, fact that takes us to figureout the restrictions that the high society had, the different social classes that existed in England during this century and the high influence of the Church of England. When Dr Jekyll drank the...
