Outline
Drug Testing in the Workplace
Purpose: Persuade and convince the classmates that Drug Testing in the Workplace is such a proper procedure when it comes to work.Thesis Sentence: Drug testing definitely an appropriate procedure that should be practiced in every working place, due to drugs effects. If employers do care about the safety, health and productivity;they should not place this option away.
Introduction
A. A drug test is a technical analysis of a biological specimen, a test that nowadays is a method applied in a great measure atworkplaces by the employers to their future or current employees. That way he or she (employer) can determine if certain people is working under drug effects.
B. To consume drugs at the same time weare working, is definitely not a good idea. This, due to many reasons; reasons that can affect the person who is absorbing these substances as much as people working near or around the addict.
BodyA. By working in a place free of drugs, safety is being improved. Other employees can feel out of danger and they won’t be worried about their welfare in an area that is supposed to be secure.A1. Every year, the serious abused of drugs produces around
forty million of illnesses (in the United States).
A2. Some examples of drugs with thischaracteristic:
* Amphetamine
* Anabolic steroid
* Club drugs (ecstasy, crack)
* Cocaine
* Heroine
* Inhalants
* Marijuana
* Prescribed drugs
B. Anotherfitting point to the topic would be that drug testing reduces considerably minor or serious accidents.
B1. A drug-using employee is 3.6 times more likely to be involved in an accident, and five timesmore likely to make a worker's compensation claim, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
