First of all, many people in the UnitedStates turn to illegal drugs to cope with painful emotions, such as depression. Many people that present this illness choose to die and others choose what we call the “easy” way of life, “drugs”.Stress is very common in most Americans and even though a lot of people try to free themselves from stress by keeping busy with different activities, there are those who choose to take the illegal drugsuch as marihuana to “help them relax”. 70 % of the people that use illegal drugs in the United States are high rank professionals. They began using illegal drugs such as cocaine because they feel thepressure to succeed, or because they are running big companies. Loneliness is an independent feeling that everyone takes and acts in a different manner; in some cases, an individual can be surroundedby friends, family, acquaintances, but yet, they do not feel the confidence to begin a conversation or even approach anyone; therefore they may turn to an illegal drug to help them be more socialamong others.
Secondly, some people also use illegal drugs to cope with tragic circumstances. Death is part of life, however not everyone can handle it and sometimes it is feared. The lossof a loved one can be extremely difficult and certain people may even feel that their loss is too much to handle and they turn to illicit drugs to make them strong and take them out of this world andinto a world that they feel they can control, unlike death; but the truth is death will come with or without drugs and at times it comes sooner than expected if drugs are present.
