Dual Degree Program

Advantages and Disadvantages of a Dual Degree Program.
First of all, to able to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of a dual degree program we need to understand the concept of it. A dualdegree program is when a student is attending to two universities degrees at the same time, either if they are different careers, or in different universities, such as in our case, that we arestudents in ULACIT (located in Panama), and at the same time we are students in WALDEN (located in the United States).
Some of the advantages that the dual degree represents are: (a) if the two degreeswere studied separately, it would take us more time to finish them. (b) We will have the chance of having degrees from two countries, Panama and United States. (c) Having these two certificates wouldhelp us work in either country without doing any validation to our career. (d) The cost of this particular degree that we are studying at ULACIT/WALDEN is cheaper than if we had studied first atULACIT and then at WALDEN. (e) Studying at WALDEN with the e-learning technics, helps the student save money in transportation. (f) Since WALDEN uses e-learning this helps the environment, so it is a“green” feature.
Of course, there are also some disadvantages to the dual degree and these are: (a) the cost of it is a little higher of a single degree. (b) It takes determination from the students todo all the assignment; this means that not everybody can do it. (c) In our case, since we are studying via e-learning, we need to keep track of our on line schedule so that we have time to deliver theassignment on time. (d) Some organization does not believe yet that using an e-learning education is effective to generate a good professional.
So taking into consideration what we have discussedso far, we can analyze and see that the advantages have a better position over the disadvantage. So in my opinion, I think that studying in a dual degree program gives me a competitive advantage...
