The Dufry concept
The essence of our offer
Dufry’s proposal embodies preciselythe image that modern Seattle seeks to project throughout the world today. Dufry aspires to make the experience of travellers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport surpass their wildest expectations. We strive to achieve total customer satisfaction. Our proposal presents a venue characterized by its innovative and modern design along with a veritable theatre of high quality merchandise andexceptional customer service.

A design focused on the customer
Our shops offer personalized service and assistance to each of our customers. This distinguishes our offer entirely from the common airport “self service” concept. For example, our check-out counters are organized “islands” rather than the usual line of individual counters typical of supermarkets. This design not only reflects a concernfor questions of ergonomics and practicality but also for coherence with the exclusivity of the brands we offer to customers.

Open spaces and ease of access
Shop fittings are designed, in terms of size and location, to allow maximum visibility in the shop. Large areas where customers can move around among the shop fittings have been created. Traffic-ways or routes that connect the whole shopare reinforced by a volumetric feature on the ceiling.

A simple product layout
Customers can view the whole shop from any point, and different sections, products and brands are clearly identified through signage and the use of light boxes or screens.

Animmediate and visual identification of brands
Shop fittings with stylized structures and neutral colours make the products and brands stand out. The space and its distribution aim to highlight brands and individual products.

A flexible and evolving commercial space
The distribution and design of the space is organized so that customers can easily find exactly what they need or desire within eachzone. The sales levels and sales margins for each product category are carefully studied in order to provide for the most appropriate shop layout. Services and special offers are distributed throughout the shop to maximize the flow of customers.

Functional and modern furniture and equipment
To help orient travellers, we have colour coded each area of our shops. We use furniture and equipmentmade largely of light coloured wood, metal and glass, all are designed especially so that the products stand out.

A clever and elegant use of lighting
A general lighting allows an optimal brightness level throughout our shop. Accent lighting highlights product displays, marks entrances and promotional areas. Indirect lighting between different levels of the ceiling helps maintain a smooth flowthrough and creates a pleasant ambiance within the shop.
