Introduction:

This essay is about atomic testing and if we as a society should be against it or should support it, my research was based on different sources and annexes that helped me to get to a conclusion that hopefully help the people that read this essay if we should support or not atomic testing.
This topic is interesting for me because I personally find the history of the wars; likeworld war I and II; very interesting and to investigate about the weapons that helped world war II end and compare it with the new and more powerful weapons that todays militaries develop is very exciting and to be able to help people to understand the importance of this weapons and how they can actually help to develop a more safe environment.

Body

Atomic testing is when they test a newnuclear/atomic weapon to see if it works properly and see how much power of destruction it has and to identify any error so they can fix it before they start developing and much greater scale. A nuclear bombs works by producing a nuclear reaction that releases heat and radiated particles, the 2 types of nuclear reactions are fusion and fission, in fusion a lot of nucleuses crush together and infission the nucleus is broken apart. In fusion bombs the military of the US uses hydrogen, which is the lightest element and in fission the US military uses plutonium and uranium, which are one of the heaviest elements of the periodic table. When an atomic bomb explodes the power can be a billion times stronger that regular TNT and forms a mushroom like figure, like you can see in annex 1. [2; 4; 5& Annex 1]
The purpose of atomic testing is to correct any error, so when they need to use the technology there will not be any hiccup or mistake when it explodes. According to comprehensive nuclear test-ban treaty, nuclear testing is legal only if it happens underground where there is little chance of any citizens getting hurt by the bomb. Full-scale testing is one way to go because itgives a better look of how the weapon works but the benefits are only minimum if you count that a lot of people could be hazard, even if they do it on a dessert there is still chance of someone getting hurt, and not only that the radioactive material that is left is very dangerous and can lead to health issues and deformation so for me full-scale testing is not worth the risk and hazards that maycause. [1; 3; 4 & Annex 2]
I believe that the government’s representatives from the nations that posses the most nuclear weapons gather together to discuss this topic because is a very serious topic that has concern everyone because when you are a little country like us Peru and we have a country neighbor so big and powerful as the US is the people from the little country will never feel savebecause they know that if the US decides one day that they want to attack us we know that they would throw a nuclear bomb and end with us in a second and gives the people a feeling of insecurity but of course the US or any other powerful country cannot stop producing the bombs because that is what keep them safe from terrorists and other countries because who holds the biggest stick has theadvantage and I think they should make some kind of agree that beneficiates all.
Atomic testing does bring us more background information of how the atomic bombs works and give us more scientific knowledge to use in other topic and to continue developing more things, but the cost of creating a atomic bomb is not cheap it nearly costs $2 billion dollars which is a whole lot of money, also you have toconsider the environmental issues that the place you are testing will have because when you explode the atomic bomb you basically exterminate everything in the near area and probably make the whole place unfertile for a long time, also the radioactivity and the gamma rays radiated will be so massive that it may spread to near cities and affect people and cause very bad diseases like cancer.[1; 2;...
