TEORÍA DE LA PRODUCCIÓN Y DE LOS PRODUCTOS MARGINALES
La producción es el conjunto de procesos que tienen por objeto la generación,distribución de bienes y servicios generados para satisfacer las necesidades materiales y sociales de los demandantes.
También se puede entender el proceso productivo como el enfoque de la administración de una empresa que se propone metas específicas de producción, planeación y evaluación, conjuntamente con el desarrollo de sus actividades, a través de un proceso que comprende todos los niveles de laorganización empresarial.
La producción está directamente relacionada con el consumo. En otros términos los diferentes bienes y servicios generados por el proceso productivo, son usados o aplicados a los fines a que están destinados, ya sea satisfaciendo las necesidades de los individuos o sirviendo los propósitos de la producción, como se analizó al estudiar la oferta y la demanda.
