- Economics is the "study of how societies use scarce resources to produce valuable commodities and distribute them among different people."
-- Paul A. Samuelson,Economics (New York: McGraw-Hill, 1948)
Economy nowadays have a different definition of how Paul Samuelsson define it , because first of all there is no use of scarceresources rather the resources are being wasted or wrong used , and there is not a good distribution of these resources at all .
The use of resources in Colombia are not alwayswrong used but there is not equality or a reward of the work to the workers as they deserve it and there is when the resources are being exploited only for the benefit ofthe ones that have power, of course if there were a good use of it there would be equality.
The definition that Paul Samuelsson uses is a very successful one, it explainshow economy must be, in Colombia there are a lot of enterprises that make a good job at having principles and seeking the country´s progress, but the biggest concern inColombia is mainly poverty this means there is no equality in the distribution of economical resources and the ones that produce and distribute it are the enterprisesbecause is where people work mostly, and the lack of education makes there is no available jobs in companies because people must have completed at least high school to havework.
To conclude, not only in Colombia we see this kind of economy, is around the world that the use of resources affects directly the way in which money and peopleinteracts, we need to see the economy as a way to reach social stability and a path to make the culture and traditions grow until we find the equality that we all look for.
