Report on Education in Ecuador

Executive Summary:

Education in Ecuador is a problem it is trying to solve for many years. The problem lies in the fact that there is a good administration in thestate budget grants. On the other side is the disorganization in public education and lack of commitment of teachers in private education.

Introduction:

Education in Ecuador has been a subjectthat does not have the adequate perspective in the last years. The problem comes from of the fact of not having a good system to evaluate and incentive excellency, instead of improving the level ofeducation, we are reducing the quality of these important factor of the country. This report is going to be written with the objective of finding a solution to this problem that is affecting all thepopulation.
This report will look at:
• Public Education
• Private Education
• Illiteracy

Findings:

1. Public education:
Public education has reduced to less than 70 % this year. Publiceducation is found more in the rural and urban marginal sector. The failure of the public education in our country is for the lack of cultural formation, the inattention of our governments to educationis the reason of the bad education that the Ecuadorians receive.
Today we have hundreds of young persons who can hardly read and write. Teachers who strike for political reasons, keeping the schoolsclosed for weeks with irreparable prejudice to the pupils.
The government gives 5, 35 % of the Budget of the State for education, which is not sufficient. Due to this we have schools that do notpossess the necessary things to attend their students. The responsibility of the State is to strengthen the public education and the coeducation. Education has been the most neglected of the previousgovernments.
2. Private education:
Private education has reached 32 % in the last years. The private education controls more than 90 % of the level of the education; more than 60 % of the primary...
