Third Grade Lesson Plan
Week # 3
Date: Sep. 13th – 17th 2010
MONDAY
ENGLISH: “Proper Nouns/Prepositions”
Objective: To practice Proper Nouns and Prepositionusage.
Activity 1: Teacher will ask students to turn pg. 9 -10. Teacher will ask 2 students to write 1 abbreviation on the board of a determinate month of the year and the other student willcomplete the activity by writing the preposition On-In as the correct form
Activity 2: Students will make a birthday –chart on their Language notebook. Then students will write 3 sentences using thechart’s information and using the preposition On/In.
HW: None.
READING: “Tree house”.
Objective: Introduce the story, new vocabulary and the concepts of friendship.
Activity 1: Based on some vocabularywords of the story and focus questions on pg. 48 of the reading book introduce the story “Tree house”.
Activity 2: Listen from the “Cd” and follow the reading of “Tree house” pg. 48– 61.
Activity 3:Solve Unit assessment #1 book pg. 12-13 & 30 -31.
HW: Read 20 minutes daily.
SPELLING: “Tree house.”
Objective: Introducing words with the “i” sound.
Activity 1: Presentation List #3 from thestory: ““Tree house”. Bring out the students the picture of each spelling word, so they can recognize and familiarize them.
Activity 2:Copy the spelling words in their Spelling notebook.
Activity 3:Students will symbolize all the words.
HW: None.
TUESDAY
ENGLISH: “Preposition: Before/After”
Objective: To introduce and practice the prepositions Before/After.
Activity 1: Students willreview cardinal numbers by telling students to take turns standing and calling out the date of their birthdays without the month. Students begin with dates 1-31 then in the reverse order, next evennumbers only, and finally odd numbers only.
Activity 2: Teacher will ask students to turn pg. 11. Students will complete the exercise and review the answers with the class.
